Kura Revolving Sushi Bar Opens at Exchange at Gwinnett in Buford With Robot Servers

A second metro Atlanta location of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is now open in Gwinnett County

A second metro Atlanta location of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is now open at the Exchange at Gwinnett in Buford.

Kura Sushi offers more than 140 dishes on its menu, like nigiri and hand rolls, a variety of tempura, ramen, bowls of udon, dumplings, and mochi. People can either grab sushi and other Japanese dishes straight from the conveyor belt or order specific dishes from the menu using a touchscreen at the table. Food is prepared in the kitchen and sent down the conveyor belt, stopping at the table from which the order was placed.

Once people are finished eating, they simply drop their plates into a slot at the table. The system then tallies up each plate and displays the total and amount due on the touchscreen. Like the food, beverage delivery is also automated at Kura Sushi, with drinks arriving at the table via a robot server.

There are over 400 locations worldwide of the popular Japan-based conveyor belt sushi chain, including one in Doraville at the Super H Mart complex and this newest location in Buford. A third location of Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is opening next year in the second phase of the Interlock complex on Howell Mill Road.

In other automated Atlanta restaurant news, unmanned pizza vending machine PizzaForno is now open at the Arco gas station on Roswell Road in Buckhead. Backed by local franchisees Tyler Young and Paul Nair and Mick Patel of Savi Provisions, the trio plan to open two more locations in late May, with the possibility of 50 additional locations across metro Atlanta in the future. It appears one of those new locations is at Savi Provisions in Brookhaven. The third PizzaForno could be headed to Howell Mill Road near the Interlock and Star Metals.
