vivo opens up Android 14 developer preview for vivo X90 and iQOO 11 users in SEA

vivo has announced the arrival of the public developer preview for the upcoming Android 14 which is made available to fellow vivo X90 and iQOO 11 users.

Dedicated to the SEA fans, this preview opens up the early bird experience of the new OS version such as optimized application management (you know, the infamous background apps killing algorithm) by using resource priority lists that pour more performance into foreground applications that are currently on the screen.

Another way Android 14 does better battery life is by regulating the delivery of notifications in the form of sound, vibration, and visual cues. Except for Clock and Calendar, any other apps must obtain permission from the user before they can do so.

Other privacy-focused updates can be seen in a never-seen-before Photo Selector feature that lets app only access photos that you have chosen and not the entire Photo folders in one go for better security, and safer dynamic coding and additional restrictions put on default to minimize the capabilities of malware relying on unintentional startups by the user.

Users may also try and use some of the quality-of-life updates such as regional preferences for temperature units (°C or °F), and 200% font scaling for non-linear fonts.
