Mum stuns Aldi shoppers with simple shopping trolley hack: 'No more wedging my foot'

By Bronte Gossling| 8 months ago

No, we're not talking about the infuriating coin-sized key it seems everyone almost always forgets you need – but we are talking about a clever shopping trolley hack.

Picture this: You've made your shopping list, you've checked it twice, you've trekked it to the grocery store, you've painstakingly collected each item and tried to stick to your budget, you've paid for everything, and now you're lugging your purchased goods to your car – but the car park is on a slope, and unloading, especially if you have kids with you, is presenting to be a challenge.

Well, one mum has a simple hack for that.

"If your Aldi has a carpark on a slope, get your Hubby to make you a strap," a woman shared to a popular Facebook group, alongside an image of a full trolley attached to her car boot with a strap and two carabiners.

"No more wedging my foot under the trolley, so the baby and my food doesn't end up down the hill!!"

Fellow Aldi shoppers could not get enough of it.

"Omg what a fantastic idea, so need this, thanks for sharing 😍," one Facebook user wrote.

Another said: "I just screen shot this and sent it to my husband. New trolleys don't have a break. So hard to hold trolley with foot. Always worried my toddler and food will roll away and tip. Thank you."

"Great idea until you forget about the strap, then start pushing the trolley to put it in a trolley bay... At least it makes unloading easier... Just need to improve my memory to take it off," another user joked.

Some shoppers then started sharing their own trolley hacks.

"If I'm in the car with the tow [bar] I have the trolley around that and it stops it from moving and I can pack away the groceries easy," one user wrote.

Another advised: "And place a mat/towel from the boot over the edge of the boot so the trolley doesn't hit you car bumper. 👍"

One user really needed this tip, writing: "Gosh this is awesome. My husband let go once. $2,000 worth of damage. 🤢"
